Round 4 of the AMF Touring Car Series was dominated, for the second week in a row now, by the West Performance team. Hosted at the shortened East layout of the mighty Suzuka circuit in Japan, the team completed a front row lockout to kick off the round in the best way possible.
With James Close taking pole, and Brenton West alongside him, the pair rushed out to a good lead and didn’t look back, finishing in the same positions.
Mitchell West and Greg Chandler filled up the next 2 positions, making it an all West Performance top 4.
Nearest competitors behind, Chris Barns and Grant Maddaford, both had off-tracks by themselves which unfortunately kept them out of podium contention.
Meanwhile, further behind in the MX-5’s, it was a much quieter affair, with Scott Chambers leading the way and showing the rest of the class how to haul the little RWD’s around the short circuit.
